Mindview has the
capability of exporting a Mindmap in various formats.
Under the icon, go down to "Export"
Here's your options for export.
Let's export this mindmap as a Word document
so you can see the process.
Under "Export" I'll select Microsoft Word then we
have a couple options.
We have "Quick Word Export" and "Advanced Word Export."
Quick export allows you to export your map quickly using
the Mindview defaults or the last advanced export settings
you chose if you've already used that mode.
Advanced export allows you to choose a template for your
document, let's go in advanced export and look around.
Here's the templates that you can choose, you can also specify
the elements of your map to be exported.
On the "General" tab and the "Attached Objects."
The export settings you choose in advanced export, are saved
with the Mindview document and reused next time you export your
map using quick export or advanced export.
This means you don't have to redefine them every time you
make a small alteration to your map or want
to export it again to Word.
Let me cancel out of advanced export.
Go back to the icon "Export," Microsoft Word, quick export.
Assign the location that you'd like to save your file in.
If you like the default name go ahead and press "Save."
Export is complete and now I'll go ahead and open the document
so you can see how it looks.
The first thing it does is it puts a copy of
your mindmap at the very top.
If this is something that you'd like to delete, you can select
it as an object and just delete it.
You'll see here the table of contents.
And then this is the root picture that we placed
on the branch, so it's considered a branch picture.
The Roman numerals indicate the branches.
This is a text note, so this is how the text note appears.
And this is just simply an image added as an attachment or it's
considered as an object under the paperclip.
You'll notice the pop-up comments are listed as
comments out to the side.
Another thing that we added in earlier tutorials were
documents, we added those as attachments.
Again, they were considered objects under the paperclip, so
there's the resume PDF.
And we also attached a hyperlink as an object under the paperclip
and right here is the hyperlink.
If I control click, the hyperlink will open.
One last feature that I want to let you know about is you can
also make changes to this exported document and then
import those changes back to the mindmap so
the mindmap stays updated.
Very quickly, if you make any changes within this, save the
document, then go back to Mindview, and
under the icon click on "Import"
You want to import a Microsoft Word document that you changed.
Go get the source file.
Here's the Word document.
And there it's already linked to the associating mindmap.
Go ahead and click "Import" and the changes that you made in the
exported Word document will be updated to the mindmap.
