Hello everybody welcome to what's on my mind today our primary topic is
going to be on wellness and the importance of wellness and the quality of our life.
but before jumping to that topic I want to share two things with you real quickly
last week Mr. Eric Martin our liaison with the Higher Learning Commission spent
the day with our team
spent all day with division chairs, and a variety of groups, faculty and staff and I
want let you know that we're making very good progress towards completion
of our self-study
second of all. I wanna give a real humble heartfelt shout out to Dr. Miller-Holst
as she moves into retirement. Her last day of work is on Friday
she's done a marvelous job and she'll be missed, my very best wishes
to Sandra as she moves on.

Music With that said, let's jump into the topic of wellness.
I got Donna and Jackie and Jessica with me here today
to help convince you to get back at it or get started in terms wellness
So what we're going to do with Jackie and Jessica is to
let them give a little talk about how they got into wellness
Jackie being long-term and Jessica just starting out. So Jackie.
I've been working out in the fitness center for about six years
and have adjusted my fitness with
nutrition watching what I'm eating. I lost 15 pounds in about a month so
working on that.
My name is Jessica and I've been working out at the fitness center
for over a little over a year I wanted to improve
my overall fitness and wellness and I've been working with the
fitness instructors
improving my mobility and energy levels
and so forth. It's helping me out a great deal.
So! What can you do for your wellness first thing to do is to get up and start moving
short, little terms like 10 minutes by
doing low-intensity and being consistent like three or four times a week
The days are beautiful get out there and move so then
Paul is going to tell you how you can do that. I want to let you know that
you have my permission and my encouragement to make wellness a part
of your workday, so use you breaks, use your free time to get out.
at least start to begin to walk about campus
get out from behind your desk, get outside from the classroom
and then I want you to go see Donna and Donna is going to get you started on a bit more
vigorous
wellness workout. - Remember Paradise Community College
is a learning center college, where through the power learning we transform
lives and
enable positive social change. Have a great week!
