In May 2013, we visited the ruins of Paranapiacaba, a Brazilian village that around 1850 received
a heavy investment from an English bank for the construction of a railway rising from
Santos' Seaport to the high mountains.
The fantastic view of the cemetery of trains and rails joined us for months, until we saw
the beginning of the wave of popular protests for improvements in the country's transport infrastructure.
It was not possible to eliminate the overlapping visions of abandoned trains with burnt buses,
empty rails with congested roads and all those that pointed us to a civilization which is not in progress.
We pursue understanding through research. We needed to understand the pathways leading
to the concentration of power through monopolies.
After these facts, we started reviewing films that date back to the early days of cinema,
We made notes about 63 television productions, from 1913 until 1968.
We rescued in these works the intentions of a dark power in confrontation with natural forces.
We, therefore, identified the missing link of a history of slavery and concentration of power.
We've worked on the images and will present it soon in a documentary format.
