Today on our 2014 Ford Explorer, we'll be test fitting the Draw Tite Ball Mount with
a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop rated at 7,500 pounds, part number 2923. Before we begin
our test fit, we'll first need to obtain the hitch height of our vehicle. This is the
measurement from the ground to the inside top of the receiver tube. we'll get a
measurement of about 20 1/2 inches. Keep in mind this measurement may vary due to tar
size, hitch style or other after market accessories. We'll nor begin our test fit by sliding
the shank of the ball mount into the opening of the hitch. Once secured with the pin and
clip, we'll go ahead and measure from the ground to the top of the ball platform,
getting a measurement of about 18 1/4 of an inch. Now if your vehicle's hitch height
matches ours and your trailer's right height matches this measurement, this should
be an appropriate ball mount for you. We can now flip the ball mount over into the rise
position and again measure from the ground to the top of the ball platform and this position,
this measurement if about 21 1/2 inches. Again, if your trailer's right height matches
this measurement, this should be an appropriate ball mount for you. And that would complete
today's test fit for the Draw Tite Ball Mount, part number 2923 on our 2014 Ford Explorer.
