Our tutorial today is about how to visualize sketches with Adobe Photoshop
Abd-alrahman Elsayed, Visualizer at Dirav.net
Begining with layers, Colors, Adding Elements and the Final touch
Using Adobe Photoshop CS5 and operating system Windows 7
For the workflow we will need two plugins; "Digital Anarchy" and "Nik Software"
Firstly after finishing the sketch and scanning it
We begin to adjust Brightness, Levels and Curves
This is an example of a sketch from the Internet
A study sketch for an Architectural building
Firstly, for coloring the sketch >> THE LAYERS
Layers differ depending on you, few or many layers
As for an Architectural Sketch; there are main three points
Background, Landscape, The Building it Self and Details added if needed
Each layer represents an element,
layer for the background sky, layer for buildings and a layer for details
In landscape we can categorize more than layer as Far Trees, Near Trees, Green Areas, Water, and so on
You can in the building layer; divide the layers of the building material Wood, Concrete, Metal
Its simple to divide our layers, after that we will color each layer to characterize them then we will add details
For making the sky layer
Select the area with the Magic Tool, and click on Caps Lock to show it
Although in the Brush Tool, click on Caps Lock to show it and adjust its size
Select the sky layer with the Magic Tool
Here; I had lowered the Tolerance
If it was high, It would select the area around it
I will lower it to something around (15)
Selecting the layer of the sky .. it is important to select the areas inbetween
And also if there are other areas .. in the spaces in the trees for example
After Selecting the sky area, i.e. our work was on the background layer
Create new layer
Shortcut >> Shift + Ctrl + N
After creating the new layer, select the color
It doesn't matter the color now .. light blue for example
Our color here is Just a key (light blue for the sky)
>>Ensuring the areas of the layer> Ctrl + D
Here I have the layer of the sky .. you can rename it "SKY"
Or you can rename it Background, whatever
Depending on you, or you can leave it as it is and define it by color, depends
As for the Landscape layer
The landscape is an organic and irregular element
I prefer to do it with the Brush Tool
After choosing the Brush and the color
>>Renaming the layer "Green">Removing the extra colors> color overlay
Color overlay >> Blend Mode >> Color (To clarify it), then select a light color
