Mass Effect 3 on the Wii U will not be receiving a lot of the downloadable content that is
available on other platforms. Publisher Electronic Arts has announced that neither Omega or Leviathan
will be released on Nintendo's new console. We had heard previously that SOME of the game's
downloadable content would be included on the disc for Wii U. The Extended Cut ending
is on the disc. And Wii-U players will also be able to enjoy the Resurgence, Rebellion,
and Earth multiplayer expansions, and the From Ashes pack which was released with the
original Mass Effect 3 on PS3 and 360. The Omega downloadable content is set to arrive
on November 27th for Xbox, PS3, and PC, but Wii U players will miss out. Electronic
Arts simply says, "Unfortunately it will not be available for Wii U."
Along with missing out on Omega, which is said to be the biggest expansion pack for
the game yet, there are currently no plans to make other packs like Leviathan, Retaliation,
or the weapon packs for the game available on Nintendo's console.
That's not the end of the bad news, either: despite being the only console not to receive
the recently announced Mass Effect Trilogy set, EA also confirmed that there are currently
no plans to bring either the original Mass Effect or Mass Effect 2 to Wii U.
EA says, "We don't have anything to announce at this time, but we'll definitely keep you
posted if something comes up!" Although no other downloadable packs have
been announced for Mass Effect 3, Bioware has said that there WILL be more coming after
Omega. When asked if that content might make it to the Wii U, EA responded, "Never
say never. :)" For all your Wii U and mass effect news, stay
