Hey guys. I'm going to do something a bit different than I normally do.
I sure hope you can see me on the video.
I'm going to my dad's farm today to do some metal detecting.
This is pretty much the first half decent day we've had all year as far as weather goes to get out there and get some metal detecting in.
Every other day we've had I've been way too busy.
And I hav'nt been able to get out there when I want to, because its a good half hour drive from where I live.
So I got my metal detector. It's a Garrett Ace 250.
And I've honestly never been metal detecting with it.
Other than a few rounds in the front yard of my place with it.
And I picked up some lead, and uh, hopefully I'll be able to get something half decent out of the farm.
My dad's farm was built in the 1880s.
A lot of old crap we used to find there when we were digging fence posts,
we would dig and tile the fields and that kinda stuff.
So that we would be able to do farm work, right?
So we would find old bottles, plates, cuttlery, brass fittings, door knobs, handles, hinges,
lots of rose head nails, or square headed nails.
I remember one time growing up, we found with my uncle, he had a
Whites Spectrum metal dectector and he had a... uh...
Sorry there is a cop right here being a ***.
He had a Whites metal dector and we found I think like a 1800s, late 1800s or early 1900s penny.
Which was kinda cool
So... Uh, this cop is turning around so I might be getting pulled over here.
My car is a pretty big target for the cops if their ***.
I don't know what he is doing.
Aaannnyhow... I'm sure there will be lot of stuff there, because my dad's farm was built in the 1880s.
And lot of people have been living in that area for 131 years.
So hopefully we will be able to find something half decent.
I'll let you know, and this is the world intro video ever. Because I keep getting side tracked by driving.
So ya, I'll let you know when I get there and make a quick video panorama of what it looks like.
Hopefully we will be able to find something decent for my inagrual metal detecting hunt.
So keep watching.
Sorry for the shaky video.
Well, we are just coming up on the farm here.
70 acres to explore, but I dont think Im going to hit up the fields, because Im looking at them right now.
We had a big rain today and yesterday. They seem to be all soaking wet.
I dont think Im going to hit those up, but there's lots of yard to work with
And my dad got a new mail box, which is faaantastic.
The farm house to the right if you can see that out the window.
I'll update you guys as things progress.
Well guys I appoligise about the wind, but there is nothing I can do about that.
*Wind Noise Too Loud*
It's extremely windy out and I dont know exactly where I'm going to hunt.
Aparently my dad just lawn rolled all the lawn today, so...
If I were to hunt on the front yard, he'd be pretty pissed off.
So, I'm probably going to end up out there somwhere.
I'm not sure exactly where Im going to go.\par
*Wind too loud*
Wow, it's really windy. Way windier than it is in the city.
Well guys, this is like two seconds in, and you can see I'm getting something between the 1c and 10c mark.
So, I'm going to dig that and see what I can come up with....
I HATE THE WIND!
I dont know if you can see that or not, but it's right down there.
I dont know if I can do it with the camera running, but I'll try and pull that out.
I'll pull it out and come back.
Well, if you were curious as to what that was. Its a big long piece of fence wire.
Well, I'll keep going.
Well, the second thing we got is a nail, but I'll keep looking.
I know that it may not be much, but I just found this and its actually really cool!
I remember this when I was growing up. This was a HotWheels Coca Cola van.
For whatever reason it got destroyed. I dont remember that reason, but it looks to be the side of the van.
You can see right there is the wheel well for it.
That's actually really really really cool that I found one of my old toys.
You know, just out here in the yard behind the barn.
That must of been underground for a good 20 something years, which is really interesting. If I find anything else Ill let you know. 74 00:07:30,25 --> 00:07:41,00\par Well, I was getting a dime signal so I went to see what it was and it turns out its an old pudding cap.
And I found in the same hole a piece of foil. This is the worst macro ever! *Continues to talk about crappy macro*
Anyways I'll keep going!
Well guys, I only had about an hour to get out and get some metal detecting in.
That was all the stuff I found pretty much. I found some nails, more pieces of binding wire, the wheels to the Hotwheels van.
But other than that there wasnt too much. I was hoping to find an old coin like I did when I was younger with my uncle.
But, as Ray would say "Thats the way she goes boys... thats the way she goes."
So I dont think I did too bad for my first trip out.
I got some experience with the machine. I really need to pick up a Garrett Pro Pointer.
And I got to learn how to do plug cutting a bit better because my plugs were gynormus!
Hopefully, it's my dad so he would be too pissed off I left holes in his lawn, well not holes but indents.
I tried to fill it in the best that I could, but anyways hopefully things will go better in the future and thanks for watching!
