Tagged to answer: "My choice of one item to take into the woods to survive".
Hi everyone! I'm here today to make a video in Portuguese.
I was tagged by my friend Sylvio of sylhawk (channel) to do this video, this "tag"
of "One item that I would take into the woods", if I could take only one.
The first time I did this video, because I already did it in English, when I was tagged
at that time, I felt this was such a ridiculous question, because obviously no one believes
that just one item could do everything, which
is why we all have this idea of making survival
kits. For example, at this moment I find myself
here, at Algonquin Provincial Park, here in Canada, and I came just to spend the weekend,
on a canoe... And although it was just for the weekend,
I brought with me, of course, my survival kit in which I obviously try to have everything
I might need. I also always have with me a smaller kit in
case I lose the other one for whatever reason. This one, in this case, is waterproof, the
case is waterproof, and I usually have it with me, hooked on to my life jacket.
I usually hook it on this side because as I am paddling on
this side, then it won't
bother me on this side. I always have, of course, my whistle also
on my life jacket, if something happens, of course a whistle is also very important.
I always have a lighter in my pocket. A knife, for anything I might need. This one
I usually carry on my backpack belt. But, if it were just one item that I could
choose from all of these... If I thought I was going to find myself in
a survival situation and I thought which would be the one item that I would really need...
I think my biggest concern would be hypothermia.
I don't adventure out too much in the winter time, because it
really is dangerous if something goes wrong... hypothermia.
Even so, in the summer, in the fall, in the spring, today is September 3rd, I mean, the
weather has been really nice but, sometimes the temperatures at night go down
to 10ºC and sometimes even lower, to 0ºC, if need be
during the night. That's a pretty cold temperature already, of course.
Well, if I'm in a survival situation because I'm hurt or wounded, in any way,
In truth, I don't know if having a knife
To be able to do some type of work in some way,
Or a lighter to start a fire, or to make a fire in some way,
Is possible, if I am really hurt.
So, hurt or not, hypothermia continues to be an enemy.
The item that I chose the last time I was tagged and that continues to be my choice.
Would be a thermal bag or a thermal blanket, those... Emergency blankets.
This one that I have is from Adventure Medical Kits,
And it's this brand they have: SOL... Survive Outdoors Longer.
And it's a bag, not only is it an emergency blanket, but it's a (bag) bivvy.
So one would be contained within the bivvy to be able to stay warm.
This is my choice... I don't know if it's the best one.
It's the choice I would make within my circumstances. Of course,
I don't go out just with this (referring to the bivvy).
My knife, my lighter a firestriker... which I have in my kit
Are things that are always necessary. I have, even around my neck...
I have these tags. I have one with my personal information.
I have one that is a blade and another that is a mirror.
I mean, in every way we try to carry things with us that might be necessary.
I have a bracelet, made of paracord,
Because it might be needed. They're all things that we take with us
because we know there is a possibility that we
might find ourselves in an emergency situation.
I don't believe that there is really any ONE item that one could choose,
but having to, being forced to make that choice...
This is my choice for sure.
I hope you understand my choice... and make comments,
you have the space below to be able to write. Give your opinion on the topic,
And I hope you enjoyed it.
Thank you for watching!
