So now we're going to do an exercise just with the violin or I mean you can do this
with or without the violin. I like to do it with the violin in the beginning, practicing
bringing your violin around, up and around safely getting ready in to perform. So you
can first do the foot exercise like this and you have your violin out like this and what
you're doing is you're rotating it up so it's upside down and practice bringing it up and
down on your shoulder. You don't want to practice just putting your violin up like this kind
of slowly but you want to make sure you're practicing the level getting it up to the
level that you want it because when it comes down you want it to be nice and horizontal.
You don't want it to be drooping. So by kind of practicing this with your violin arm, bringing
it up, also at the same time being very careful when you bring it down and create a stable
position on your shoulder and you can do another exercise like this just kind of bringing it
up and down like that.
