as we do close in on Christmas Louis it is almost Christmas
and I will be doing absolutely nothing as I
have always done because I was raised Jewish and Christmas was always
a very calm day a nice thing actually
compared to the frantic Christmas Eve shopping for gifts to participate in the
buying culture
and the entire thing I won't be doing that but there's an interesting article
on addicting info which originally appeared on
web the two cars by Lindsay Price nets which tasks
wouldn't Jesus hate Christmas Lewis and it goes through seven different reasons
why Jesus would
would not like Christmas number one is commercialization
a Matthew 19-21
other verses above the sacred text talk about how you can
either love God or money but you cannot possibly serve both
Christmas trees Chris Christmas trees are actually a remnant
a Germanic pagan traditions that couldn't be further from the Christmas
bait you bob he's probably wouldn't really
be to find Christmas trees not actually Jesus's birthday raid the sentiment is
nice but december twenty-fifth
was not the day Jesus was born the date was chosen largely to align with
a variety of pre-existing winter festivals we've talked about
some of those in the past the Bible generally Louis isn't really big on
birthdays
even if december twenty-fifth was the day Jesus's birth
the Bible is not big on birthdays there are few instances in the Bible were
birthdays are
even described and they often lead to *** for example
Matthew 14 six through 10 talks about King Herod's birthday
in which hurro DS's daughter dances for hayride which is very pleasing to Him
he declares he will give her anything she wants and she asked for John the
Baptist's head on a platter
so birthdays Louis not exactly the coolest
friendliest thing in the Bible when is a
yeah no i i think birthdays are probably just
fit in with the whole Christmas beam by
big big spending and I corporate nonsense
then we have paganism if there's one thing God doesn't like Louis it is
worshipping false idols yet many modern Christmas traditions have pagan origins
for example we've got the Christmas trees as I talked about
we talked about ugh celebrating Christmas on December 25th
also stems from Roman pagan traditions
and that does not seem very christ-like to me
and then of course we have Santa not only Louis
is his name an anagram per se in it is
in a sense a false I told that because I've the commercialization of the
holiday
I don't think it's crazy to say that there is a worship
apps Santa and the buying culture that it represents
right I if you were to take up all I've
youngsters in this country in Amsterdam by here
what Christmas is actually about and add
and about Jesus in about Santa I I would be willing to bet that a lot of them
don't even really know who Jesus is but Santa everyone knows
santa is are and lastly the seventh reason why Jesus might not be that big a
fan of Christmas
Jesus was Jewish right and even reform and non-religious Jews face the
December dole am NOT saying well we don't celebrate Christmas but at the
paint same time Jesus was Jewish so
what's going on here so listen Louis I i think that
it there's a very good chance if Jesus were alive today he would be no big fan
of what Christmas is
I he would be he would be appalled David
I anyone with common sense would be able to realize that
