Hi, I'm AJ Hartman and today I'm going to talk to you about recording video for You
Tube, doing You Tube covers which are basically just re-recordings of other people's songs
and also recording original music if you want. I suggest doing the song- a recording the
audio into your computer as well, making sure you have a high quality audio recording because
it's important to people. Today I really want to emphasize also getting a high-quality video
recording. If you are strapped on money you can get a high-quality HD web cam for about
$50 you can get decent video. It's a little more complicated because you will have to
get some software in order to record the video at a high-quality so that is a little more
convoluted and complex. Another decent option is to get a small point and shoot camera that
can record video and those run about $80-300. That is a good idea because the video is in
it's own self-contained audio and video file and you can just take it off your memory card
and put it on your computer. You also need to get a tripod or something if this is just
recording yourself, to do that stand up. And that is going to be the most simple stuff
for You Tube videos. Another thing you can do if you want to get more complex and you
have more people and more resources you can get a DSLR that records videos such as a Cannon
T3i and what you will do there is you can set that up on a tripod and have high-quality
video that way, but it's better to have another person operating the camera and making sure
that everything is going well and that it looks good and that it is something that other
people are going to want to see. So make sure that whatever your choice is, a simple web
cam or all the way up to a DSLR or even beyond to more expensive recording solutions that
you are getting the best value, product, and visuals that you can so people will want to
watch what you are putting up there.
