YouTube, the second largest search engine in the world. How do we get the strategy right?
Well, in this video I'm going to share with you a couple of things that you need to consider
to make sure that YouTube is actually the right strategy for you, and how you can get
it right for your business. Stay tuned and I'll show you just that.
Hi, guys. Joshua Van Den Broek, founder of Video Marketing Done For You. In this video
we're talking YouTube. I feel like Oprah. If you're using YouTube as a strategy for
marketing your business online, then it's probably a good place to start if you're doing video.
Now, YouTube is the second largest search engine in the world, owned by Google, and
we all love what Google can do for our businesses, so how do we get our YouTube strategy right?
First of all you need to think of who your viewer is. Imagine them. Where are they living,
what are they doing, how did they find you currently online?
Now, whether it's for YouTube or whether it's for Google, it doesn't really matter. Google
owns YouTube, so Bob's your uncle. The key to this is, you need to get your videos ranked on YouTube.
The way that you do this is through a little thing called video SEO.
That's how you optimize your video files so you can tell YouTube exactly what this video
is all about, so they can actually match that video to the relevancy of the keyword search
phrase. If that keyword search phrase is very similar to what your video title is, then
you're going to be ranked a little bit higher.
The other thing that they don't really tell you about is that YouTube also counts the
amount of total watch time. So if your videos are getting zero minutes being viewed, then
you might have the exact title of the search term but it's not going to get ranked because
nobody's watching your videos, because YouTube is saying that this is not really relevant,
it's not a good video, people are not watching it.
One of the strategies that you need to do is start promoting your YouTube videos to
get more watch time, so then you can rise up through the rankings.
Now that you got a quick overview of how you can rank your videos on YouTube, I want you
to consider what your actual end game is going to be.
Are you aiming to get traffic to a service offering or a product offering, or are you
trying to build your brand?
There's the two main things that we want to consider when we're using YouTube, because
you either want to build your profile, build the credibility, build the authority by using
YouTube videos, or you want to be driving traffic to a particular sales offer or a particular
free offer.
Just consider which one that you want to focus on first and then you can tail your call to
action to match.
Your call to action may be something like, if it's branding, "Subscribe to my YouTube
channel and watch more of my videos."
Where if your goal is to drive traffic to a particular free offer, then maybe you want
to say at the end of your videos, "Go and download my free PDF report. You can get it
for free by clicking on this link that's on the screen." Something like that.
Depending what it is that you want to achieve out of YouTube, whether it's traffic or building
your brand, you need to match your call to actions.
