and glass bottles are thrown. The garbage and the recycling get picked up
on the same day from the roadside. Here is a German girl. She lives in Hamburg
and is very stylish and very green. The German throws different pieces of garbage
in different containers. Fruits and vegetables get thrown in the Bioabfall. A banana is thrown
in the Bioabfall. The German throws old paper in the Altpapier. Magazines and a cardboard
box get thrown in the Altpapier. The German throws old glass in the Altglas. A green glass
bottle and a brown glass bottle are thrown in the Altglas. The yellow sack is for metal
and plastic. Two pop cans, a plastic water bottle, and a milk carton get thrown in the
yellow sack. The Problemabfaelle is for things that are poisonous or dangerous. In the Problemabfaelle,
spent batteries and a broken phone are thrown. Restmuell is for garbage that can't go in the other containers.
Rotten meat, cellophane wrappers, and our project get thrown in the Restmuell. The garbage
gets picked up on different days from the roadside. Germany recycles more than the US.
41% of German garbage is recycled, whereas only 22% on American garbage is recycled.
The German system because it makes less garbage. The American produces 760 kilograms of garbage
