The adventure started when... I am in Los Angeles, Eric is in France
He sends me a message telling me: "I want to make a movie in the U.S, blah blah blah,
I'm going to come someday soon." I say alright.
Then Few months after he left me that message,
I knew I was about to come to Paris for a month. So I reach him back and say:
"I don't know when you think you are going to come, but I'll be in Paris in September,
I will stay for a month, save up your money and if you are down,
write something and we'll make that movie together in September."
Now when I sent that message, I think if I'm correct it was in August or July
so like pretty much a month before I arrive. And he tells me: "Ok no problem".
And so few days before I get there, he sends me the draft of the script all finished.
And I read it and tell myself, he's insane, he's completely nuts, but I dig the story like crazy.
So I arrive in Paris and...
Well I'm going to skip some details but I had to go in the south of France
to see some family so I wasn't really in Paris for a month but really for two weeks.
And during those two weeks, it was the craziest time you can ever imagine because
we had nothing. We basically had only a piece of paper with a story written on it
and from there we had to do a casting, put up a team together, find locations where we could shoot, and start filming.
So each day during the filmmaking; knowing that it wasn't easy for us at the beginning
so we had to eventually start to shoot during last days before I go back, we had like 4 days of filming with me.
So each day was like, we missing actors or extras, or we don't have a location and we would wake up at 5am like real soldiers,
call each other and say
no matter what it is going to work that's it. No matter what, at the end of the day the work will be done and it will happen.
And we did it.... We did it... And I think it was the determination really.
We had that drive to create something, we wanted to work together and we did it. That's it.
