Now I am going to fineline the eyebrows and the top part of the eyes.
I often twist the paper around when I am finelining. This helps me.

Now I am going to start finelining around the face.
Now I am going to switch back to the 0.3 Copic Fineliner - Copic Multiliner SP, availabe on my online store, to fineline around the face.
At least the front pieces. Then I am going to switch back to the 0.2mm Copic Multiliner SP.
The reason why I am switching around, because the thiner fineliner is good for lines you do not want to accent as much.
When you are doing the finelining you want to have different size of lines. This helps make your drawing more interesting.
Also catches you attention more. Once you are fininshed your finelining, wait for about 5 to 10 minutes for you fineliner to dry. If you dont, it may smudge when you start erasing the pencil marks.
Now that we let the fineliners dry, we can start erasing. Next the touch ups!
I am going to touch up around the eyes. When you fineline initially, you are finelining over the pencil. When you erase the pencil, it also takes some of the finelining off of the paper - hence the touch ups!
You want to touch up especially around the face, because you want the lines to be really noticable. This brings more attention to the face.
that draws your attention. That is why when you are doing finelining, if you do thick and thin lines around the hair....
People will want to look at your drawing more.

A few more touches! Eyelashes...
Now I am going to make the hair have thicker lines. As usual I start with the front pieces first.... oooops, one second, there is pencil all over my hands...
...when you are finelining, make sure your hands do not have pencil on them. Pencil smudges your markers... If you smudge it on your page now, when you bring out your markers, it can make a mess of them.
Make sure your hands are always clean when you are drawing. You dont want to smudge your drawing.
Do you have an iPhone, iPod touch or an iPad? PaigeeDraw is available on iTunes!
I am almost done now...
When you are making lines thicker, make the lines thicker around the face, then thiner towards the edges... This will help get the attention to the right place on your drawing.
You want peoples attention to be drawn to the face, not to the edges.

I am twisting the drawing around a bit. Once thing that you want to know about finelining is....
when you are finelining you want to make the lines very quickly. If you go slow, the lines can get shakey.
if I go really slow my hand is not steady. Going faster makes for better finelining. By going fast, you can demonstrate a better flow. For example, on the hair, the finelining becomes thicker to thinner...
instead of just big and chunky. It looks better especially for the hair.
