Whether you're on-duty or off-duty, if you're a Soldier,
you're always representing the U.S. Army.
That means you should set an example for others.
You can be a positive influence on your friends and Family.
If they see you being healthy and fit,
they're more likely to do the same.
The first person to speak up to make a healthy choice
can help nudge people to make a similar decision.
This is actually called anchoring.
Research shows that anchoring
can increase a similar healthy choice 80% of the time.
So set a positive example, and others will follow.
Did you know that your environment
can have a tremendous impact on your health?
For example, children are 84% more likely
to be physically active
when the school yards are kept open for public play.
People who live near an outdoor trail
are 50% more likely to be active.
However, the most important factor
for developing positive habits is your personal motivation
and the support you receive from others.
So see what's out there.
Get active.
Reach out to your Family and friends,
and be a positive influence for healthy living.
