Hello, my name is Melisa Schenk on behalf of Expert Village. Today we're going to talk
about how to deal with a bully. In this clip let's talk about respect, our next pillar
of cultivating character. Respect to yourself and respect to others. In an earlier clip
we were talking about goal setting, it's a great exercise to encourage your children
to set goals for themselves. They need to have something to look forward to, to something
to strive toward, something that's bigger than themselves. And in making goals, nothing
happens unless you take action and that's the key of goal setting. An exercise we do
within Spread the Sunshine is take a business card size or a little index card, write your
most important goal. You can have many goals, they can be small, larger goals, but take
your most important goal and write it on a business card, nice and small that you can
put it into your pocket, that they can put it into their book bag and let them know,
tell them to read it over and over. Refer to it everyday, perhaps when they get up in
the morning or at night, something to think about each day, nothing happens until you
take action. The choice of what your kids and of what you want to believe will be up
to you, it's all about confidence. So in this clip we're talking about respect, valuing
ourselves and others and even our world around us. It is a fact that you become the people
that you spend the most time with. Who are your kids? Who are you spending the most time
with? Do you want to be like them? Or do you want to be like someone else? So, again it's
a fact you've become like the people you're going to spend the most time with. So, how
are you going to act? Think back to our earlier clip. Act-approachability, confidence, today.
