The preparedness and the resilience we are the lowest lying state in the country and
as a result we face certain vulnerabilities. Now I know that there's been some hesitation
on the part of some in the Environmental advocacy movement, they've been hesitant over the years
to have a robust conversation about adaptation. Because some saw that as really a surrender
or maybe they didn't want to give a false sense that we could just adapt our way out
of this. But I think we need to have frank conversations both on the admissions side
and the adaptation side we need to both reduce the potential impacts but we also need to
prepare for storms and droughts and sea level rise this really can't be an "either or" discussion
or situation.
