Pandora is a free internet radio website that can be personalized to meet an individuals
musical taste. You can create your own radio stations which will include your favorite
artists. For instance, I am a fan of the group Rise Against. In this video, I will show you
how to create a radio station using them as my default artist.
First, I am going to open the website by going to Pandora.com.
Once I sign in, I will be taken to my home page with a listing of my radio stations.
The radio station previously created will be located on the left hand side of the screen.
To create a new station, simply type in the name of the artist you would like to base
the station off of. One of the nice things about Pandora, is that the station will not
only consist of the artist you typed in; it will also include other artists with similar
musical styles. This is a great way to learn about artists you may not have heard of before.
As the song is playing, you can look in the center of the page to view the artist name,
song name, as well as the album name. Up at the top of the page, you will see thumbs
up as well as a thumbs down button. You can use this to indicate if you like or dislike
the song being played. If you like the song and select the thumbs up button, Pandora will
automatically try to find songs similar to the current one playing. If you select the
dislike button, the system will skip ahead to the next song and will also adjust the
station accordingly. Be aware, that you can select the dislike button as many times as
you want, however after about 5 songs, it will no longer skip ahead. You only have a
certain amount of skips per day to use. This works the same way for the Fast Forward button.
I love Pandora because I can listen to music all day at work and it is tuned to the music
I like!
