Being the eldest in a Mexican American family, and with all of the stereotypes
that are out there.
I think it's important for me to make a difference
and show that while there are bad stereotypes out there,
there are also people that are here to break them.
That's what pushes me forward into following my aspirations
and goals of becoming an attorney.
Those little effects that you have on people's lives make all the difference.
The Y has provided me with a lot of mentors, like my debate coach.
Being able to argue law and have a bit of practice
was what really drew me in the most.
The American dream is about being able to express who we are.
Self-expression allows us to be as you are.
Embrace who you want to be.
