Tumamao Harawira is here to talk sports ahead of the weekend.
Tena koe.
League first -
let's talk about your team which likes to make exotic drinks
with energy drinks.
Warriors meet the Panthers in Christchurch -
Thompson, Matulino back - redemption time?
You bet it is.
If we look back at the game they played around 10
right before the Anzac test match,
the team were looking good from their victory
against the Dragons.
It's known that there are some subs there as well as other
people who have been playing at the second tier level of league.
So if these players aren't up to playing at this level
then there will be questions hanging over the heads of those players,
such as the five who were banned
as well as the others who are returning from injury
such as Tuimoala Lolohea who plays five-eighth,
Thomas Leuluai who plays halfback.
So there are a lot of question marks in the air.
Were you asked to go with your bible and ritually purify the players
for the errors they made and to purify them
for their upcoming match?
The Warriors have got Aotearoa.
So there is no point for anyone to go and ritually bless the land
for them.
However the criticism and the mocking is deserved.
So if they don't win this weekend
then there will be some tough questions asked.
Will they win? - I think they will.
And that's because of the fear of embarrassment of losing
will motivate them.
That's their motivator right? Yes it is.
- So embarrassment is what will drive them to win.
I'm talking to you about this
because I support teams that play without fault.
Like you're one who can talk!
So let's talk about rugby now.
Crusaders vs Highlanders,
the defending champs are looking good aren't they -
easily dealt with the Chiefs last weekend.
However it's a different, more defiant team
that they're coming up against
as the Crusaders have two back to back victories.
What's your pick?
For the last four years I think NZ has forgotten about the power
and talent that the Crusaders have.
This year we are hearing about those same problems that are in the team.
When it comes to the forwards they have the best.
No other team around the world can best them.
That will be a big challenge for the Highlanders.
And if they don't keep things tight on that part of the game
then the Highlanders will have a long night ahead of them.
So Crusaders or Highlanders?
I'm slightly in favour of the Crusaders.
That makes the two of us then.
As surprising as that may sound.
So you say Warriors and Crusaders whereas I say Panthers.
That's a really terrible thing to say!
Next week we need to talk about the boxing match between Joseph Parker
and Carlos Takam.
Tumamao Harawira, thank you.
