We set off on a long drive to Long Sault at 3 oclock PM, we didnt arrive until 11pm, Traffic was brutal!
Alright, so we made it. We're at the Lawry. Look at this guy
He's been on my pants for .. probably 10 minutes now. He was on there, then I went to the truck, got my camera, grabbed the battery, came back, got the camera going and he's still there
Alright, it's day one. All set up
Spodded out lot's of corn, setup one rod and we're ready to go
The first morning I spodded out lots of corn and got everything going. I didnt really catch anything but the second morning I was woken up at 6:00 am by this fighter!
It weighed in at 16lbs
and ahh, ya, the game changed at this point
this fish came to
Chilli Shrimp boilie topped with ESP buoyant corn
It's my first fish from the St. Lawerence river
Better get him home
It was a challenge to release the fish
He kept turning around
heading in back to the bank
The fish I found were very fiesty here.
So as I mentioned I..
did a little bit marker
marker work and found
a huge weed bed
I spodded out maize
to the one swim on the left
that I choose
and boilies out
to the right
figured I keep them seperate but close together
alright, so in this you can see the weed was about fifty feet out front
a long strip and there was a few spots of weed around as well
so I picked two spots
that seemed suitable with gravel bottom 0:05:05.650,0:05:07.900 and ahh heres my
right that I was using, it was recommended by Shawn, it was sixty-five pound braid
with uh... cord leader
and then I chose to use a 0:05:17.639,0:05:20.639 pva stick with, theres my chilli hemp boilie
well, Ive been fishing for about 36 hours. caught one fish.
had two runs that didnt end with a fish though
one was a hook pull
and one was... ya two hook pulls
I guess the swim I picked isn't the best spot
I spodded out a lot of corn and boilies...
Here we have a few pictures from the first couple days
this is me fishing at night. You can see the firefly by the moon there
Thats me havin a beer
and again
it was a canada day celebrations so we got the kids some
glow sticks and flags, tattoos on their faces. They were having a great time
We took them to the fire works show in Long Sault
um...
it was a pretty good show
I wish I wouldve filmed some of it. Look at them there, theyre tuckered out, oh gosh.
anyway we got back, I went to bed
I was woken up at 4:00 am
by this guy
I didnt get any video because I was pretty tired at that hour.
I went back to bed
and i was woken up again at 6:00 am by this guy right here
the kids really wanted to see a fish
I kept getting runs but I kept losing them in the weeds
so this one here, I decided I would prepare the fish, get it cleaned up a bit, put it back in the waterin the net and wake the kids up and get them to take a look at it
Hold the fish, get some pictures, thats what we did
You can see here, the fish in the net
Heres the kids when I was trying to wake them up
hers some pictures of the kids holding the fish from the morning
they were loving it, the fish was as big as them
again, it didnt want to head back out into the lake, (it) wanted to hang out with the kids
Alright so this is day 3
been having a tough time here. Theres a big weed bed out in the water that fish keep getting hung up on and I keep losing em, but I figured these fish out and I started landing them now today. Todays the third day, just got this big female.
Im gunna take a guess and say its twenty something pounds
gunna take a guess and say this one is twenty pounds even, big girl.
the water here is really snaggy so I started putting my tail rubber on loose on the lead so the lead will fall off in weed. Just so I can stay in contact with these fish beacuse before, as soon as they hit the weed Id lose em. So,just gunna weigh this one in and get her back in the water
