Hi this is Julie from Beadaholique.com
and today I want to show you how to use bracelet bending pliers
and you'll see that this got two nylon jaws
which are curved and what that curve is going to do is help
the piece of metal that you're gonna bend mimic the curvature
of your wrist so that instead of laying really flat
on your wrist like so, which is not very comfortable. It doesn't look quite right.
You're going to be able to mold a piece of metal to curve around your wrist
more. So I have an example here that I bended and this is a piece
of Vintaj. I actually patina it. And here I have another example
this is a piece of Nunn Design
and this is just a tag that's been incorporated into a bracelet. You can see it just
has a very gentle curve to it
I have a couple other pieces of Vintaj here and I want to show you how
to bend them. I thought these would be really good and
illustrative of how this works. I'm going to leave one flat so you can see the before
and now we're gonna make the after. So you gonna go ahead
and place one end of your blank or whatever you're trying to curve and
maybe it's a stamping or something else
into the pliers and you're going to press
and move it along then
and press
reposition. You're walking along the length of
whatever is the object is that you're trying to bend
just keep pressing. Of course the thinner the gauge of the metal
the easier it's going to be to bend. When you're done
just go back, keep pressing because it's got nylon jaws is not gonna mar the
metal
and there we have a very nice curve
you can see the before and the after. And now
see how that looks on your wrist as well. So the before
the after and now that the before
So very handy tool. Very easy to use
and these are the bracelet bending pliers by BeadSmith.
