Welcome to Transcriber Pro tutorial. This video provides an overview of Transcriber
Pro application and shows you how to get started. Transcriber Pro was created for making your
transcription work easier, less time-consuming and more efficient. Editor can be used to
play, edit and transcribe any type of recordings.
Let's start with creating a new transcription project. When you choose New Document option,
you can see the pop-up window with the text fields provided for the new project. Let's
give our project a name. Then choose the media file for transcription. The direct upload
tool lets you easily upload media files from your PC. Also, you have to choose Project
Folder to save your output files. Close the dialog by clicking on Create button. And you're
done with the first step. Creating a new project opens up Transcriber Pro Editor, and you can
see new transcription work area in the application window. The application allows you to work
without switching between different screens. You can see all needed transcription tools
on the Tools panel, such as undo/redo options, text replacement, sections navigation interface,
tags, speakers and application settings tools, as well as help button which takes you directly
to the application website. Let's take a look at the settings menu. Here
you can review all keyboard shortcuts for the media playback speed control and standard
player functions manipulation, so that you don't have to take your hands off the keyboard
while transcribing. Using hotkeys you can also navigate your transcript, as well as
set speakers, edit timestamps, set tags in the transcript for unclear parts of the media
and use text replacement from shared dictionary. You can also add words to autocorrect exceptions
list for your convenience. To make sure that your transcription work
won't ever be lost, you can specify autosave time interval for
the application in the settings menu. Let'*** the Player tab. Here you can see
all player control buttons, as well as great features like speed control. You can triple the playback speed or reduce
it by 50% without sound quality distortion. In the player menu interface
this slider controls the speed. Find the speed you're comfortable with transcribing. You
see how easy it is for you to transcribe. As you can see you can also select skip forward
and skip backward intervals, as well as pause rollback interval.
Let's go to the menu tab. Here you can create, open, save or export your transcript. When
exporting your transcript, you have an option of Rich text file or Text file document formats,
as well as Interactive Captions HTML format. In the drop-down dialog you can
specify Section format and Tag format you need.
