Why Lock-Out?
Eliminating unauthorized tampering of pipe valves is critical to the successful operation
of your facility.
Like blood vessels in the human body,
your network of pipes carries essential materials throughout your facility
everyday.
Unexpected blockage or unregulated flow can spell disaster!
Don't need your facility and equipment vulnerable to potentially
catastrophic damage,
or jeopardize the health and safety of your employees.
Here's what you'll need to effectively secure gate valves in your facility.
An Adjustable Gate Valve Lock-Out device.
This device is offered in 2 ANSI colors to allow you to color code your valve contents.
Yellow is used for inherently hazardous materials
and Red for fire quenching materials.
At least one Padlock.
The Adjustable Gate Valve Lock-Out will accomodate up to 2, if necessary,
and a Lock-Out Tag.
Emedco carries a variety of Lock-Out Tags
with different wordings to fit your every need.
The Adjustable Gate Valve Lock-Out device can be used on valve handles from 1 inch
to 6-1/2 inches in diameter.
and will lock-out the valve in either the "OPEN" or "CLOSED" position.
To install,
simply place the two halves of the lock-out device
around the valve handle.
Then, adjust the device tightly,
and secure it in place with a Padlock,
and a Lock-Out Tag.
Slip the Padlock shackle through one of the open holes at the top
of the device,
then attach your Tag.
The valve is now secured against unauthorized tampering.
