Whenever I want to ask a guy out, I shy away.
My innocence is so pure, That I wonder if anyone will ever say just sure.
I turn around and find him,
That one special guy, I want to share every moment with.
Now I just hope with all my heart, That he will notice me.
I talk among my friend, Trying to mask my glee,
I ask for his advice, Not knowing what he'll think.
My heart keeps on pounding, One beat at a time,
I don't know if I've ever felt this way before. He said to take things slow,
To talk about something that both of us enjoy. Don't let him do all the talking,
It might make me seem awkward. I walk a little closer,
One step at a time, I think of happy moments,
Smiling to myself. I finally reach him,
And don't know what to say, He stands up to greet me and shakes my hand,
He's turning out to be a perfect gentleman. I start to make some small talk,
To keep the convo going, I want to get closer,
So I casually get up and say I felt a slight draft,
It seems he wants to be closer too, Because he slips his arm around me.
I look into his eyes, And lose myself in them.
I ask him if he knows the time, He simply says it's time for us to go on a date.
We walk away,
Hand in hand, Never looking over our shoulders,
I give my friend a low five as I walk by, I just want to capture this moment forever.
