Korean doctors have called off a nationwide strike planned for next week.
The Korean Medical Association said it will accept a tentative agreement reached with
the government on contentious medical policies... after a vote held this morning.
The KMA said that of the 41-thousand members that participated in the balloting, over 62-percent
voted to accept the deal,... which includes a plan to carry out a trial run of a controversial
telemedicine system and allow hospitals to build for-profit subsidiaries, along with
other revisions to
medical policy. The planned six-day strike was to start next
Monday... and followed a one-day doctors' strike earlier this month.
