Second half
Now it's time for our lesson.
Today, we learn to express opinions about things and make some questions about them.
Please, watch the following conversation.
Your coffee.
Thank you.
This cup is pretty! Is it yours?
No, it's my younger sister's.
Oh, yeah?
This coffee is good! Where is it from?
It's from Colombia.
It's really good!
And now let's study the expressions we heard in the conversation.
Please repeat after me.
(This cup is pretty)
Hey, everybody, you have already studied the forms "kore-sore-are", right?
(This is a cup)
(That is a cup)
(That one over there is a cup.)
"Kono" is followed by a noun, and after this we can express an opinion about the object.
Let's practice it together.
(Car)
(This car is expensive!)
(Sandwich)
Try and say it.
(This sandwich is tasty!)
(Camera)
(This camera is good!)
Now let's study these adjectives all together.
Let's repeat them.
(Tall, expensive)
(Cheap)
(Tasty)
(Good)
(Beautiful)
(Interesting)
Ok, and now next one. Please say it with me.
(Is this A's?)
It means "Is this A's cup?"
But if we already know what we are talking about, we can omit the noun (cup, in this case)...
...and just say: "A-san no desu ka" (Is this A'ys?)
Ok, let's practice a bit. There's "ka" at the end of the sentence, so, as you already know, it is a question.
(This is An)
Let's go!
(Is this An's umbrella?)
Now, look here.
(Mobile phone)
(Is that An's mobile phone?)
Next one.
(Watch)
(Is that An's watch?)
And now, the last one for today. Please, say it with me.
(It's really tasty!)
"Hontouni" means "very". It emphasize the meaning of the following word.
Let's practice it together.
(Tall, expensive)
(It's really expensive!)
(Small)
(It's really small!)
(Tall, expensive)
(It's really expensive!)
Now, listen to the conversation again paying attention to these expressions.
Your coffee.
Thank you.
This cup is pretty. Is it yours?
No, it's my younger sister's.
Oh, yeah?
This coffee is good! Where is it from?
It' from Colombia.

Let's go on.
(Is it An's?)
Let's say it.
(No, it's my younger sister's)
Please...
(No, it's my younger sister's)
And now, I will be B. Please, answer to my questions.
(This cup is pretty! Is it yours?)
Very good!
Now, look here. Say it with me.
(This coffee is good! Where is it from?)
Please, try and say it.
Now say this.
(It's from Colombia)
Go ahead.
Say it.
(It's really good!)
Go ahead!
And now, you will be B, and I will be A.
Go ahead!
(It's from Colombia)
You did really well!
