Ok, the prostate plays an important part in *** activity, not least of all in the part
that it plays in producing the effect of the *** at climax and ***. That contraction
of the prostate forces the seminal fluid out; the seminal fluid is produced in glands very
close to the prostate, that when the prostate is removed during surgery to make sure that
the cancer is removed, those parts also disappear and affect the production the seminal fluid.
The removal of the prostate is also likely to damage the nerves that supply the ***,
and in some cases the nerves have to be removed because the cancer has grown close to the
edge of the prostate and sometimes, it comes outside the prostate capsule. If the nerves
are removed that is also going to affect the ability to achieve and maintain an ***.
So it's the intrusive nature of the surgery on the prostate that A removing it is fairly
traumatic; the urethra needs to be cut and re-sutured to the neck of the bladder, so
you can get continence problems. But also, the removal of the prostate is traumatic surgery
for the pelvic area and the risk of damage to the nerves, but it's those things that
need to be helped to recover post prostate cancer surgery.
