>>Erik: Where has your self confidence been tested most in your entrepreneurial career?
>>JT: As we went through Myfootpath, we kind of started with a concept on a napkin and
it evolved. And when you go out and raise money, you know this from business school,
you can poke a hole in anything. It doesn`t matter how good it is, there`s always something
wrong or there`s some risk and so I would go and raise money and we raised a couple
million bucks which was good, but it was never quite as much as we wanted and we had to scratch
and claw to get it. But as it relates to confidence, there are going to be so many people who tell
you no and you have to shake it off. One guy put it in perspective with me. He said, ``You
either believe it or you don`t.`` and if you don`t believe it, it doesn`t matter about
the numbers the pitch, whatever, if you don`t believe in it, forget it. And so what I had
to do from a confidence point of view is not take it personal, here I am pouring my heart
and soul into this and these people are like, ``That`s stupid. Why are you doing that?``
And then once you get a couple of wins under your belt, then you`re like, well, maybe it`s
not that stupid after all. Hopefully it`ll be hugely successful and I can call them back
and be like, ``I`ll get you on the next one.``
