Now you're probably all wondering, why has he got a picture of a cowboy?
In the middle of a presentation about body language,
let me explain
The opposite to the worst lecture ever,
and it was all about how important it was for the college to retain students
it's a fine when they all enrol at the beginning of the term,
but then they or kind of, lots of them go to the shop for cigarettes and don't come back,
So, some of them don't make it to the shop
to an event, it was a erm, oh it was so boring, well it would have been so boring,
it was erm, about student retention, you know, retention targets and so forth
Long story, shan't go any further into that but, this, they called a consultant in,
and he was brilliant, because his topic was how to retain students, and it was all about how important it was,
but he had this room about this size, It was in a big oval shape, the tables were in a big oval shape
and he was in the middle, don't know how he got in there, I think he crawled under the desk,
but he was in the middle and he was running round the place telling stories and we were all on the edge of our seats listening to these stories,
he was fascinating, and I remember one particular part because when he was telling us about one man who's sole
responsibility in the college was to round up wayward students and he described,
he used an analogy,
Well the guy didn't really have a horse,
I do t think he really had a horse, but the analogy was that this fella was literally galloping round the high street
grabbing students as he passed them, putting them on the back of the horse, then galloping back to the college
and dropping them off at the front door then going back to the town again, you know,
and do you know what?
That was 10 years ago,
and I remember it like it was yesterday
Well the guy didn't really have a horse,
body language
don't forget to smile
