Hello It's Nnif Wald, and I'm here with a review of the THIRD DC Animated movie this
year. Recently, DC Animated Movies have gotten a
bit boring. Most are based on fantastic comics, yet the so-called adaptations are really just
motion comics with slightly changed dialogue. With the exception of Son of Batman, no recent
DC Animated films have tried anything new. This all changes with JLA Adventures: Trapped
in Time, the first DC Original Animated Adventure in what seems like forever. This movie is
great, because it reminds us of the glory days of DC Animated Universe shows like Batman:
The Animated Series and Justice League. The story for this movie centers around the
Justice League's newest members, Karate Kid and Dawnstar, trying to stop Lex Luthor from
going into the past and erasing the Justice League from existence.
The animation in this movie is the best we've seen in a while from DC, but it still doesn't
match the quality of Bruce Timm's shows from the 90's and early 2000s.
The voiceovers reach a similar level of quality, the main standout being Diedrich Bader as
Batman. Bader is in my opinion the second best Batman voice actor after Kevin Conroy,
and he's at his best here. All of this is great, but the story just feels
a bit cliché and familiar, but the animation and voice work are so good, and this movie
is just so plain fun, that this is a more than welcome 75th Birthday present for Superman
and Batman. JLA Adventures: Trapped in Time gets an 8
out of 10.
