This is a little honeymoon cottage for Tillie Delger, and her husband, Henry Trowbridge.
It was built in 1885, and Tillie's father, Frederick Delger, was Oakland's first millionaire.
He started out as a shoe salesman during the Gold Rush, and made all his money in real
estate, in the 1860's and 1870's, and when his daughter Tillie wanted to get married,
her father built her this little honeymoon cottage. Now, this little honeymoon cottage,
stood in the way of other development in downtown Oakland, so it was moved here, to be part
of the Preservation Park collection.
