Hi. If you're thinking about going back to school to earn your bachelor's degree, don't forget about
your transfer credits.
At Ashford University, there are two types of credits you can tranfer. The first is traditional
credits that come from previous college experience. There are also non-traditional credits that
come from military training, professional experience, and national testing programs.
Let's start with traditional credits.
If you ever attended a two- or four-year university, the courses you took could be credits you
can transfer. And, if you attended community college, your entire Associate's degree can
typically be transferred, getting you halfway to a Bachelor's degree.
Next, the non-traditional credits.
If you serve, or have served in the military, you earned credits that may be transferred.
Plus, Ashford requests your Joint Services Transcript as well as other transcripts for
you, so it's easy to get started.
Your professional experience may be worth credits as well. Ashford's Prior Learning
Assessment team can evaluate work training, workshops, and other sources for transfer
credits.
Finally, there are national testing programs, which allow you to earn credits in subjects
you know such as math, history, and other areas of studies.
You see, transferring credits is an effective way to get a head start on earning your degree.
Talk to your Ashford Admissions Counselor about the credits you want to transfer.
