BEDTIME STORY
EPISODE 33: SNOWFLAKE
It was a long winter. The world was covered with white down.
Everything was covered with snow.
In a park, in the middle of the night a mouse woke up.
Every winter she would wake up to walk a bit and stretch her legs,
look at the world and then go back to her winter sleep.
This time wasn't different.
She woke up, stretched and went out of her warm den.
Then, she walked around the park in which she lived.
She was amazed, there was snow everywhere.
Everything was covered in the white fluff. Everything was so pretty.
She finished and wanted to go back to her den to sleep the rest of the winter
but she heard a quiet voice above: "It all looks very beautiful"
The mouse looked up and saw that on the branch
there sat a small grey and a bit cold sparrow.
She asked then: 'What are you doing here?'
The sparrow said: 'I'm watching the winter.
I love to look at the snow and watch the world covered with it'
The mouse said: 'Me too! Every winter, I wake up just to see it. Can I join you?'
'Of course, come' he replied. The mouse climbed on the lowest branch.
The sparrow flew down to her, they cuddled together,
as it was very cold, and started to talk.
They talked about the winter, the summer, about what they miss and what they like.
Suddenly, the sparrow said: 'I wonder how much one snowflake weighs?
It probably cannot be checked. Probably, one snowflake means nothing.'
The mouse, with a blink in her eye, replied: 'You know, it's very interesting.
I posed myself the same question last winter.
There was nobody then and I was a little bit bored.
I started counting the snowflakes falling on the branch we're sittin on.
I counted for a very long time, I got to two milion
two hundred and fifty-nine thousand eight hundred and ninety-four.
When the next one fell, the whole branch weighed down with snow
and it came down with a crash and below was a big snowdrift.
Then I though that this one snowflake mattered greatly.
When it fell, everything came down. It had to be very heavy and very important.'
They sat in silence for a while and the sparrow thought:
'I'm also small and meaningless, like that snowflake'
The mouse sat a while and thought: 'Well, I'm so small, too,
not really important, exactly like that snowflake.'
In this world, all small, seemingly meaningless things,
good deeds, situations or people usually don't matter at all.
However, it turns out that one small, meaningless event,
one small good thing, one person can change everything.
Maybe it is a story about you?
