>> Coach Dunphy: I think anytime you can play at home in front of a crowd that appreciates
what your team does.
We've been fairly successful the last few years here at Liacouras and I think a lot
of that has to do with the home crowd, in particular the students.
Our leadership within the group is not where it needs to be right now. We have two senior
players who are hurt and out and they provide some of that leadership.
So our other two seniors, Jaun Ferdnandez and Ramone Moore really have to step it up
and take care of the group a little bit.
>>Micheal Eric: Playing without myself and Scootie Randall is enough of a challenge for
the team but I think just playing together as a team all 40 minutes of the game is
going to be the key to the win of the game on Saturday. Every game is a challenge, and
this is another challenge along the way that we got to accomplish.
>>Scootie Randall: I think that this is going to be a big test for us against Central Michigan,
even though, you know, they’ve been playing pretty well and, you know, we've had a
tough loss recently, so I think this is going to be big for us, season opener, having our
fans and supporters.
>>Dunphy: What a coach really enjoys is putting the pieces together. Somebody else might look
at our injury situation as a detriment. What I would look at is what a
phenomenal challenge we have to put together a team that, yeah do we have some adversity?
Absolutely. That's what life is about. Let’s overcome that adversity and
everybody steps their game up another notch.
>>Eric: Every game is a challenge for us so I think right now we just trying to figure
out how much of a team we can be.
>>Randall: We’ve here four years. We've been a losing team, we've been a winning team.
Every year, you know, got somebody graduating, you got somebody new coming in.
>>Dunphy: You want these guys who are getting out of your program this year to leave with
the greatest memories they could possibly have. And when you are
successful, those memories are much more lasting.
>>Eric: We hope to, you know, go a long way in the tournament and win a lot of games.
That's the general, you know, as the season goes along we are going to see
what kind of team we are made of.
