Ready To Rock! Tutorial
Ok, we have seen how to move through the concert arena.
and how the rockers can move from the starting position
to get the first row.
But how does the turn of the game exacly work?
What does one Rocker do in his turn?
Each Rocker has his card in his hands
Every turn, at the begging of the turn, he draw out one card.
and then he could play two cards of the type he prefer.
so, he can play two path card, two wall cards,
two flash cards
or one certain card and a second card of a different type,
for instance one path and one wall, or one wall and one path, etc.
What are the FLASH CARDS?
Flash cards are bonus for yourself or malus to be played against other players.
Let see how those cards works.
the fist one, very simple, is the flash card BEER
the beer card allow to draw two more cards
and it count for one of the two actions of one's turn
you do an action when you play a card
if one choose to use a flash card (or path or wall) in its turn
it accounts for an action, one of the two that one can make in its turn.
if one decide to use beer, he will draw out two cards
and he can play only another card.
Another flash card is: LOTS OF BEER
The Lots of Beer card allows you to draw out 3 cards.
so, playing Lots of Beer one use one action
but he can draw out three cards and now then play another card.
when one finishes its action, its turn will automatically end.
Another flash card is SHOTS ON FIRE
the shots on fire card allow you to draw out two cards
but after that, it forces you to discard one of the card in your hand.
the card that you discard will not necessary be one of the two that you have just drawn out.
So, using an action for playng shots on fire, one draws two cards
and than he discards one card from its hand.
the next flash card is called SMASHED BEER
Smashed beer allow you to target one rocker and make him discard two card
so, one choose a target rocker
and he will discard two cards, choosen by him, from his hand.
playng smashed beer its equal to one action. After playing this card, one can play only another card.
FLASHING ***, flashing *** card is a flash card allowing you to gain actions.
so, playing Flashing *** costs one action
but it makes you gaining two actions
which jointed to the second of one's turn, allow to play 3 more cards in this turn.
If this card is the first one of the turn of one rocker, he can play 3 cards more.
this card can be used with another effect.
because if it is the last card in your hand, it's meaningless to gain actions.
because you don't have cards in you hand, and as making an action means playing one card more
on the card there is the OTHERWISE symbol
so that this card can instead be used to 'draw out another card'
Once I discard it, I draw out another one and in this turn I can play only one card more.
as playing flashing *** costs one action.
Another flash card is the card GROPIES
this card allows to gain actions, making you gaining 3 actions!
when someone play this card, he can play 4 actions in its turn.
it means that he can play 4 cards of whatever type.
Another flash card, which damage the other players is: EAR PLUG
the Ear Plugs cards allow you to target one rocker
in order to making him loosig two actions in the next turn
it means that he will jump the next turn.
when his turn will arrive, he could draw out one card, altough he can't play any cards
still he can move, but only without playing cards.
so EAR PLUGS make a targeted player loose two actions
still it does not block him from drawing one card and it does not impeed any possible free movement.
There is also the *** STOP card
*** stop let you draw two cards
but makes you loose one action.
so if one plays *** stop at the beggining of its turn
he will draw out 2 cards but he will loose the second action for the side effect.
so its turn ends here.
If one play *** stop as the second card of its turn
he'll loose the first action of the next turn.
he will loose the first action that he can loose.
Another card is CHEMICAL QUEUE
chemical queue make you draw out three cards and loosing 2 actions.
The first two that you can loose, so
If one plays chemical queue in this turn, he draw out three cards more but he will loose the second action
as well as the first one of the next turn, so that in the next turn he can play only one card.
BODY SURFING as I explain in the previus video
allows you to fly over the wall card in a straight way.
So, if a Rocker is blocked, he can play body surfing, using one of its two actions,
in order to fly over the obstacle in a straigh way.
if he lands on a position without an active path card
he then has to play a path card using its second action.
so body surfing plus the landing card are two actions,
the entire rocker's turn.
body surfing can be used to fly over the wall in these directions.
but one cannot Fly doing an 'L'
one cannot Fly doing an 'L'
moreover, one can use body surfing only
if the path drawned on the card
is open towards the wall
so, in this situation, the rocker can use body surfing.
while, if this card is rotated in this way, with the crowd blocking the access
the rocker, firstly, has to open his way, and than he can use the body surfing card
but he will need a card for landing
so, probably, he could use the body surfing card only during next turn.
Another card is the PUSHED AWAY one.
the card pushed away pushes a targetted rocker
ona closer card
so, at the beginning, the rocker who plays pushed away, draw out two cards for himeslf,
and than, he have to choose someone else to be pushed
he can't push imself, but the pushed player can be pushed in any direction.
for example, the red pawn will be push backward
and the path card, that at the end, has no pawns on itself,
flip upside down
if one want to push this rocker backward
this rocker will not be pushed on an active card,
so the rocker who plays pushed away, can push the rocker on a path cards played by himself.
and between the two cards there could not be path continuity
so the movement is valid also if there is
not path continuty between the two cards.
The last flash card is READY TO ROCK.
the ready to rock card activates the stage cards.
this card will be fully explained in the next video.
