We see them at bead shows ows and even at Michael's, Jo-Ann, and Hobby Lobby. You may have seen them wondered how to use them. Well, here's one of our favorite ways to feature filigrees in a pair of Copper Filigree Earrings. In this video we show you how to use the filigree square as a connector, how to hang crystal rondelles from the bottom to add shimmer and movement, and how to attach them to matching earring wires. If you haven’t seen our YouTube Channel, we’d love to have you check it out. If you like our videos, please click the subscribe link so you won’t miss our latest videos. How To Make Easy Copper Filigree Earrings Materials & Tools 2 Square filigrees, copper 2 Earrings wires, copper 2 Ball headpins, copper 2 Crystal bicones, clear 2 Faceted crystal rondelles, Green AB Round-nose pliers Wire cutters Chain-nose pliers (optional) Steps 1. Slide a green rondelle bead onto a headpin followed by a clear crystal bicone. 2. Make a wrapped loop in the headpin that attaches to a corner of the square filigree. To do this, grasp the headpin above the bicone bead with the round-nose pliers. Bend the headpin wire towards you 90 degrees. Reposition the pliers onto top of the wire, just above the 90-degree bend. Pull the headpin wire over the top jaw of the pliers, making a partial loop. Reposition the pliers so the bottom jaw is in the partial loop. Pull the wire the rest of the way around the bottom jaw of the pliers to finish the loop. Slide one corner of the filigree onto the headpin wire and nestle it in the loop. Then secure the loop by grasping across the loop with the round-nose pliers and wrapping the tail around the neck of the headpin two times. Trim the end of the headpin wire with the wire cutters. (If you end up with a pokey end on the cut wire, use chain-nose pliers to press that end down.) 3. Use the round-nose pliers to open the loop on the earring wire. Feed the opposite corner of the filigree square onto the earring wire and nestle it in the loop. Then close the loop on the earring wire. 4. Repeat these steps to make the second earring. Easy-peasy! Can you believe how fast these go together? If you have any questions while you are making these earrings, let us know and we’ll reply.
