The investigation might be lasting for another half-year but the arrest period is to expire in mid April.
By that moment Vladislav Baumgertner will have been in home detention, restricted and limited in contacts.
The businessman has assets abroad he may well jump bail, court says.
In December, 2013 Uralkali replaced him as CEO.
At that, Russian paper Vedomosti estimated that Vladislav Baumgertner might have got
$12 mln golden parachute.
Even after the Uralkali CEO's extradition to Russia the Belarusian General Prosecutor's Office is still seeking compensation for 'financial damages'.
KIRILL KOKTYSH, political analyst:
'Baumgertner is highly unlikely to give something back.
But it [money paid to him] is sure to become another argument in further trade between Russia and Belarus,
which stands a fair chance for success'.
In February, 2014 the negotiations on Uralkali's possible formal exit from Belarusian Potash Company were held.
The conflict had triggered potash market collapse before.
These days Uralkali is clawing its way back, but the old price level has not recovered yet.
As for the Belarusian side, they focused on exports and stopped domestic supplies,
which may be due to domestic companies' debts to Belaruskaliy.
