hello michael, thank you very much for being here and answering a few questions
so your name is michael...What do you do for a living?
I'm a travel agent; I work at home for myself...
I've been a travel agent all of my life...
but I decided to work on my own five years ago...
so it's very hard work but I enjoy it
and...I had this opportunity to come here and do this course but also work in the afternoon afterwards
So you're learning and working at the same time?
It's a hard life...!
yes
when you choose your subjects to do your exams, I wanted to do French and Spanish and three other subjects, but it wouldn't fit in
Is there any other language that you speak?
No. I did a course of Turkish in Leeds, just one course, but there was no demand...it was very difficult
I went to Instituto Cervantes and in the very first class they spoke in English...If they had done the same thing in Turkish Iwouldn't have had a clue of what they were saying
I don't know how but after half an hour you start to understand what it's just been said
If they did the same thing in Turkish I wouldn't have had a clue of what they were talking about
What's your best strategy to learn Spanish?.. I mean...what is it that you find most useful to learn Spanish?
I'm not sure really...I thought that after this course it would give me a better idea
maybe to learn grammar in the morning when your mind is quite fresh to take in new information
and then the other mixture of conversation
I'm not quite sure...In the Instituto Cervantes it's good cause it's all in Spanish
they give you a good broad range of subjects and grammar to progress through
And what about the culture of Spain. Is it interesting for you to learn the culture at the same time?
definetly I would have liked to have more time to longer lessons but having to do my job as well it would have been too much
so I just went for the short course...but the culture is definetively interesting
So you think it's interesting or necessary?
yeah, I think it's necessary as well to try to understand how people might work and how culture works
Well Thank you very much indeed Michael...Thank you very much No problem
