A day in the life of a graduate
This voice and that hair, with a person underneath it, belongs to a caffeine-addicted, beardless
Viking from Norway.
And you are hereby invited to witness a somewhat normal day in the life of this Deakin Graduate.
Glenn is a Visual Communicator.
Now, what might that mean?
Well, it's basically what pretentious multimedia producers call themselves.
And while most Visual Communicators choose to specialize within a field or two during
their studies, Glenn is a bit of an indecisive fellow and has ended up as a "Glenn of All Trades"
Now, let's say someone is in need of a Logo.
And during their meeting with Glenn he notices that they might also be in need of a promo video,
portrait, website, brochure, animation of previously mentioned logo, and recommendation
for hairdresser and/or coffee shop - Glenn's got them covered.
This way, Glenn can make sure that the project has the same vibe through and through.
There is of course a small catch to this.
While Glenn "of all trades" Karlsen does know how to play six different instruments at the same time,
he'd have to be a bloody God to able to do so while being an expert in
"all of the fields".
Luckily for Glenn, "No man is an Island".
And Glenn is fortunate to be surrounded with good people of different specialities, each
one bringing something unique to the table.
And even though Glenn clearly isn't a God, he has enough experience within their fields
to be able talk to these fine individuals in their own language while having a deep
understanding of the entire process.
Now, if working like Glenn sounds good to you, then the Creative Arts course at Deakin
might be right up your alley.
And it doesn't hurt that it's now among the top 2% of universities worldwide -
situated in the world's most liveable city - which also happens to have world class coffee - Melbourne,
Australia.
