A decision is expected on Wednesday regarding the canoe Te Raukura.
The Wellington council will meet tomorrow to discuss this
and it is hoped that and outcome will be reached.
The Taranaki Whanui organisation has been at odds with the council
over management of the waka.
A judicial settlement conference was heard in the Wellington High Court,
but the outcome remains confidential.
The council maintains that the waka was paid for by ratepayers
and therefore belongs to the council.
But Waiwhetu Maori deny this.
A $12.5 million wharewaka has been built to house the craft
on Wellington's waterfront.
