Hi! My name is Matthew Christian from Tampa, Florida and on behalf of Expert Village, we
are going to talk about the proper use of a hammer drill. Most hammer drills have another
feature. This feature is forward and reverse. When drilling into concrete, you are definitely
going to be using the forward speed but there may be some instances where you might need
the reverse. This particular model doubles as a hammer drill and a driver drill or standard
drill without the hammer. In the case where we were drilling into the concrete, we could
also use this drill to drive our fastener. But if our hole turned out not to be long
enough and we need to remove the fastener, this drill has a reverse feature which would
allow us to back out the fastener, reinstall our drill bit and drill a little deeper. The
function is rather simple; just switch side to side, forward and reverse.
