Welcome to video 4, in last 2 videos, we discussed about keyword research for physical product
niche marketing. In them you learned some basics.
Like what are keywords, buyer keywords, how to use Google Keyword Planner to find profitable
keywords and finally how to use Traffic Travis to analyze market competition for that keyword.
In this video, you'll learn basics of info product niche marketing. First of all, pick
up a popular product from your favorite affiliate network. Every affiliate network have its
own methods to identify popular products in their market place.
Use their affiliate help section for more information on this. Note that you have to
follow this step, because for niche marketing we need popular product, or a product which
most probably seems to become popular in future.
There's no way you can find popular product, unless you go through their help files which
have details about finding popular products on their network. If you haven't joined any
affiliate network yet join one.
If you are complete newbie, haven't yet sold any information product yet, then don't join
ClickBank. You heard me right, I said don't join ClickBank. I know it's exact opposite
advise that you might have got from any other product that you might have purchased to learn
affiliate marketing.
But let me explain, ClickBank is one of the biggest, and one of the most popular affiliate
networks. Vendors who have their products on ClickBank and Affiliates who actively promote
ClickBank products are not average marketers.
They are advanced, experienced and rich marketers, they have big pockets, better tools and big
staff to promote products for them. On other hand you are new, have limited amount of money
to spend, less or no tools at all, and absolutely everything will be done by you, because you
don't have employees.
Competing against them with all these odds is very difficult. Many marketers who make
their full time living as an affiliate, either don't bother to promote ClickBank products,
or they promote a product whose sales page is good, but its popularity is good to none.
Condition for niche marketing is popular product and when it comes to ClickBank, popular products
are all hard to compete as niche marketer.
ClickBank is for big pocket affiliates, even my income doesn't come from ClickBank, it
comes from a set of different affiliate networks, little from each. Same also applies to nearly
all successful affiliates.
Hard to believe, then visit warrior forum, it is biggest network of online marketers
and search few threads to learn about it. If you are too lazy to do little research
work, just start a thread there asking, "How Many of You Make Your Affiliate Sales From
Other Affiliate Networks Than ClickBank".
You'll get answer, you were looking for. ClickBank is not only bad for new Affiliates but also
for inexperienced Product Vendors. It's so bad that some products never even get day
light from affiliates.
I am not complaining, that ClickBank is bad, I am also an affiliate for ClickBank and I
do promote few of the products from their market place, and I am grateful, they pay
me commissions, on time, everytime. But reality is reality, ClickBank is for advanced marketers
not for Mr.Newbie Marketer.
Below this video is list of different affiliate networks that you can join. I can't guarantee
anything about their products, but I can surely guarantee, most of their affiliates are making
their full-time income from their affiliate network.
So first find popular product, note that its not the case, that most popular product will
make you more money, less popular products are also capable of making you more money.
It's just myth that more popular means more money.
Copy name of product and product owner and head towards Google Keyword Planner.
Now as told before, there is always a pattern from which, you can easily identify buyer
keyword while niche marketing.
So here's list of pattern for buyer keywords,
- Product Name Itself - Product Name Review
- Product Name Reviews - Product Owner & Product Name
- Product Name Bonus - Product Name Discount
- Buy Product Name - Purchase Product Name
- Product Name Scam
In short, word review, reviews, bonus, discount, buy, purchase and scam are words that can
be used to identify buyer keywords.
Now let's have a look on tools that are required for this keyword research.
- Your Affiliate Network Tools (To find popular product)
- Google Keyword Planner - Traffic Travis
Once you copy product and its owner's name, head towards Google, search for keywords which
match following search volume criteria.
- If Commission Per Sale Is Between $10 To $15 Then Look For Minimum 800 Monthly Searches,
More The Better. - If Commission Per Sale Is $40 Or Above Then
Look For Minimum 200 Or 300 Monthly Searches, More The Better.
So far as domain name is concerned, get keyword rich domain name. And yes your keyword will
always have product name in it. Will this not cause any problem. The practical answer
is no. Mostly info products aren't created by big companies that represent any brand.
And even if they are created by some company that represents brand, product name is usually
not associated with it. When people buy info product, they buy it from an individual who
claims intellectual ownership of product.
By the way before you start promoting any info product make sure to visit affiliate
program page of product and make sure, have they disallowed affiliates to use name of
their product in domain name.
If yes then you must not use name of their product in your domain name. Products that
don't allow you to use name of product in domain name should be promoted using Macro
Niche Site.
One more thing, avoid using keywords rich domian that contain word scam in it. Though
most product owners will have no problem with it, but using word scam for someone's product
can land you in legal issue.
It can happen, because as an intellectual owner of product he can issue a legal warrant
against you for defaming his product.
Better be careful than sorry later.
Now I'll show you a demo of how keyword research is done for info product niche marketing.
For example we'll use Truth About Abs product by Mike Geary.
