>> CHIEU: Hi, my name is Chieu. I'm the librarian from Tully Library. I'm going to show you
how to access the Mango Languages Database so you can learn a language.
You're going to go to sjpl.org. That's our website, and it's also on the back of your
library card.
After you go here, you click on Research.
Then you're going to click on More Research Resources by Topic.
And then you're going to sort it by name.
Scroll down to Mango Languages.
And then it's going to ask you for your name, your library card number, and the PIN number.
After you enter all of that, it's going to lead you to this page. You're going to have
to create your profile by typing in your email and password.
And then you're going to go to your email and activate by clicking on the link that
they sent you.
I'm going to show you the details inside the database real quick. So I type in my login...
You're going to go to Courses. Over here, they are showing all kinds of languages they
can teach you. If you're an English-learner, you click on English Courses and then you
can learn English as a second language.
So, over here, if you want to learn English as a Vietnamese-speaker or English as a Spanish-speaker
over here...
So, I want to show you how to learn a language as a -- for example, you want to learn Vietnamese
-- you click on Vietnamese. And then there are two courses. One is basic and on is the
whole course.
Click on Basic. And then you can browse the Courses menu, so there's two different chapters
in this class, in this session. You can click on this one -- that's number one, and then
the lesson, you can go play like this.
It's going to be reading to you. If you can read -- if you don't want to learn this page,
you can go to the next page. You can also hit 'Replay' so it can replay the whole conversation
over here.
There's a button right here that you can repeat whatever they said. And then you can put the
mouse or the cursor over here to see what it actually means in English.
Thank you very much for joining me. I hope that my session over here is helpful, and
I hope you enjoy Mango Languages Database.
Thank you.
