Paul is one of my success stories.
I have a little boy that, at the beginning of the year could not even write his own name.
His work was picture only, and writing any sort of letters, it was just a free-hand write.
He had gone from this in September, to learning to write and copy from what he saw around the room.
The letters are in sequential order, most of them, and then by spring
he is then developing his own sentences to work with the topic that we had started at the beginning of the day.
Now he’s taken that one step further, and now it is sentences.
And in his own spare time, the best part I think for me, is watching him develop his writing skills at free time.
Not when I’m asking him to do it. And this was one of his books that he put together starting with,
this was his title, and moving into each one of his pages with this picture, developing his story as he went,
all the way to the best part, I feel, is “d end”.
By using the Write Steps program and modeling from the beginning of the year,
Paul has been able to take his learning, through modeling and conferencing with the teacher
from September to June, and this is the product we see at the end.
