Hi Everyone.
Time for a math lesson!
87. 87 is the average number of children under the age of 5
who drown each year, in and around the home.
Every 4 days.
About once every 4 days one child drowns in a bathtub, or a bucket,
or a toilet, or a landscape pond.
Children can drown quickly and quietly.
80 percent.
WOW! 80 percent of these drownings happen in the bathtub.
It happens when Mom or Dad leave for "just a minute" to answer the phone or door,
or the babysitter leaves to get a towel.
If you must leave, take the child with you.
How can we stop it?
Never leave young children alone in the bathtub or near a container of liquid.
Don't leave a baby or young child in a bathtub under the care of another child.
Always keep a young child within arm's reach in a bathtub.
Don't leave a bucket containing even a small amount of liquid unattended.
Let's save 87 children.
