Heather Adams: When my daughter was three, she developed a chronic illness. So we can
never be without insurance. (super): Heather Adams, American Fork
After a year of tears every month...Being covered by a different insurance company,
there would always be some excuse why they weren't going to pay it, which is frustrating
to me. Because we were paying them a lot of money for our coverage.
And I would call, try to get anyone to help me, and I would get transferred from one person
to the next, to the next. And then I'd get sent back to the first person that I called.
And I was never able to get a good answer to the question that I was asking. The coverage
was spotty, and they were very difficult to work with. It was such a downer.
(It) really taught me how great SelectHealth is.
I was so delighted to change back....because we had enjoyed their coverage with a previous
job. My experience originally with SelectHealth was good, but I don't think I really appreciated
it until I had the experience with a poor insurance company that I did not feel like
was on my side. SelectHealth....they do what they say they're
going to do. There's no questions to be asked. (Of course), I know they're not going to pay
for everything, because that's not what we signed up for. But they do pay for what they
say (they will). And I appreciate that. It's just important to go with someone that
actually will stand behind what they promise they will do.
I have not had to fight SelectHealth about...any bill.....When my explanation of benefits comes
in the mail.... it's always been what I've expected it to be. That's a huge relief.
And, as a mom, it just makes me feel like ... I can deal with the things that I need
to deal with, especially taking care of my daughter and her chronic condition.
I've truly grown to believe that SelectHealth cares.
And feeling like I really have a partner that stands by me gives me great peace.
