I was reading and giving class of this book,
The Nectar of Instruction, only for the 8th sloka.
My main purpose was to give an idea outline of this sloka.
The purport of all kinds of teachings.
Here teaching means the teaching of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu or Rupa Goswami. If you are following this.....to follow this sloka...
seven kinds of slokas have been explained there, only to realize this sloka!
so...Tan nama rupa caritadi sukirtananu
smrtyoh kramena rasana manasi niyojya
tisthan vraje tad anuragi jananugami
kalam nayed akhilam ity upadesa saram
Rupa Goswami is telling- I am now telling
the sum and substance of all upadeshas(instructions) taught by Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu.
By this sloka...following, you can attain easily Krsna Prema....
which is the life of the goal of our life.
Object of our life.
So he is telling, Tan nama rupa carita,
Read the translation.
Syamarani didi: The essence of all advice is that one should utilize ones full time
24 hours a day in nicely chanting and remembering
the Lord's divine name, transcendental form, qualities and eternal pastimes,
thereby gradually engaging one's tongue and mind.
In this way one should reside in Vraja, Goloka Vrindavan dhama,
and serve Krsna under the guidance of devotees.
One should follow in the footsteps of the Lord's beloved devotees who are deeply attached to His devotional service.
We will explain it.
I want to read one stanza 75 in the transcendental realm...
because today in the evening so many persons will go,
so I want to touch that thing, mood...
In transcendental realm of Vraja....
Syamarani: In the transcendental realm of Vraja
one should serve the supreme lord Sri Krsna with a feeling similar to that of His associates,
and one should place himself under the direct guidance of a particular associate of Krsna
and should follow in his footsteps.
This method is applicable both in the stage of sadhana,
spiritual practices executed while in the stage of bondage,
and in the stage of sadhya God realization.
When one is a siddha purusha or a spiritually perfect soul.
Swamiji is quoting here one sloka of Rupa Goswami from Bhakti Rasamrita Sindhu
for this sloka,
and the sloka is that: seva, sadhaka rupena,
siddha rupena caatra hi
tad bhava lipsuna karya,
vraja lok anusaratha
the meaning is so deep, but we wait,
that Rupa Goswami is telling that if you want to serve Krsna
then you should have a sadhana like Caitanya Mahaprabhu has told.
What is that sadhana? what is the process?
He is telling, seva sadhaka rupena....
you should serve like sadhaka
and also like siddha,
like we are giving example.
Rupa and Sanatana, and all six goswamis, and all acarya;
especially rupa ragunatha,
how they are serving?
Sankhya purvaka nama gana natibhih kalavasani krtau
nidrahara viharakadi vijitau catyanta dinau ca yau
radha-krsna guna smrter madhurimanandena sammohitau
vande rupa sanatanau raghu yugau sri jiva gopalakau.
Swamiji always used to recite this song with tears in his eyes
very very honorably with deep love and affection.
Sankhya puravaka nama gana natibhih...this is sadhana
of what thing? To attain bhava.
Sankhya purvaka, not less than one lak ,two laks, three laks
all the associates like Rupa, Raghunatha were doing always daily.
sankhy purvaka nam.. gana...what gana?
Radhe Jaya jaya madhava dayite, gokula taruni mandala mahite
radhe jaya jaya madhava dayite
again Govinda damodara madhaveti govinda damodara madhaveti,
govinda damodara madhaveti govinda damodara madhaveti
Namami Nandanandanam namami nandanandanam namami nandanandanam namami nandanandanam...
like this two, three, four hours absorbed
sankhya purvaka nama gana ...
Vandana Bhajami radham aravinda netram
smarami radham madhur smitasyam
vadami radham karuna bharardram
tato mamanyasti gatir na kapi
always I am doing bhajan,
my...doing bhajan of Radhika,
always always what...remembering Radhika's lotus feet.
From mouth uttering Radhe Radhe Jai Jai sri radhe
why? Srimati Radhika is unlimited merciful, more than Krsna.
Tavaivasmi tavaivasmi....like this so vandana always.
After that doing pranam, astanga pranam, sastanga pranam.
Sastanga pranam you know?
This, this, this.. hands too holding,
and heart, inner heart by speech telling...
hare krsna hare krsna and doing like this,
these eight things should be there- then astanga pranam,
to whom? Radha Govinda, Radha Gopinatha,
Radha Madana mohana Radha Damodar,
Radha Syamasundara Radha Ramana
Radha Gokulananda , Radha Madhava
Radha Vinodebihari Radha Bankibihariji,
Radha Vallabha Radha Giridhari, so!
and the places of pastimes ...
with Nanda Baba maharaja ki jai ho!
Nanda Baba ki jai ho,
Yasoda Maiya ki jai ho,
Krsna Kanhaya ki jai ho,
Dau bhaiya ki jai ho,
Rohini Maiya ki jai ho
Rasili rasaiya ki jai ho
and all these things.
to Varshana went, Varshana ki jai ho,
Vrsabanu baba ki jai ho,
Kirtika maiya ke
shridham bhaiya ki jai ho,
Hladini mahabhava swarupa mama aradhya Srimati Radhikaji ki jai ho,
Jai ho Ananga manjari ki jai ho,
jai ho to all the places there.
To Vrindava...Nidhuvana,
Vamsi vata, Keshi ghat,
Dhira samhira,
Sevakunja doing praam,
to Bandirvana
where Radhika was married to Krsna
so Radhika and Krsna are playing on swings to that places,
to Jamuna to Giriraja Govardhana
to Radha kunda, Syama kund laks
like this they would do...
Four hours ...no four hours!
24 hours if they will go do there and when they remember they will fall faint,
and they will roll down..always,
Ha Radhe He Radhe vraja devike ca lalite he nanda suno kutah
Sri govardhana kalpa padapa tale kalindi vanye kutah
ghosantav iti sarvato vraja pure khedair maha vihvalau...
So this is called sadhana.
So these are outer sadhana, not inner.
Inner sadhana is more more developed.
Always sitting, playing in the waves of Radha Krsna love,
in the ocean of prema unlimited ocean,
this is sadhana bhakti.
And inner internally where?
Rupa goswami is Rupa manjari,
Raghunatha das goswami is who, Rati manjari.
they are serving always Radha Krsna conjugal,
fanning sometimes, sometimes massaging Srimati Radhika,
sometimes Krsna telling come on and they say No, we will not come.
They are hiding in the back of Srimati Radhika.
This is service doing.
Sometimes betel nut.
What services more?
Raghunatha das goswami has told in his Vilap....no,
in his Stavavali he has told,
tambularpana pada mardana payo danabhisaradhibhir
vrndaranya-mahervarim priyataya yas tosayanti priyah
prana-prestha-sakhi-kulad api kilasaíkocita bhumikah
keli-bhumisu rupa-manjari-mukhas ta dasika samsraye
These are services.
So he is telling Siddha rupena,
this is siddha rupena,
and sadhaka rupena?
What I told, Sankhya purvaka nama gana natibhih, this all.
Always in 24 hours,
weeping bitterly rolling down on the bank of Radha kunda, and Syamakunda
sometimes in Vrindavana, Sevakunja, Vamsivat here,
on the bank of Jamuna, like this.
These are sadhana.
Only not that we should give books, and seventy five percent keep in our pocket.
In beginning Swamiji has told like all these things.
Without this we cannot go up.
But forever we will do only this and not coming in this line.
That is why he sent me,
he told me to go and help devotees other wise they'll be dry and give up this Krsna consciousness
and they're going here and there.
If anyone will not taste, and advance,
how can they be...stay in this movement?
If river is not flowing,
and water is stopped it will be rotten.
And after that it will dry.
So Bhakti is like a current,
Bhakti will certainly go up up up.
And if it is not going by these ways that he is telling,
so we should try and realize all these things and do bhajan like this!
I have given only a taste, very little,
otherwise they will tell Narayana Maharaja is sahajiya and he is telling all these things.
Flatly they will tell.
I think that up to now in seven eight days
I'm giving the Srimad Bhagavatam,
what I have told, actually,
Pralad Maharaj, Ajamila, Nrsrimha Bhagavan,
and all others from beginning.
But if I am not touching Braja lila then it is all bogus.
All bogus.
So I should touch something and give you some taste that you should not fall down,
other wise you will fell down.
Gradually, bas, today is finished I have given only very touch. finish.
You should have a very little what greed for this and if you have greed,
I will give so much.
