Is there something in your life right now that you want?
You know that you want it; it-it's not really a question of IF you want it or how bad you
want it. It's not a question of desire; you know that you desire to be "blank" or you
desire to have "blank". It just...something kind of goes wrong in the process of turning
that desire into action.
For example, um...I - I know that I want to be healthy. I know that I want to look a certain
way, and I want to feel stronger and healthier, and I want to lose about 15-20 pounds. I know
that I want to develop these healthy lifestyle habits...but...uh...you know...chocolate exists.
Chocolate is a thing! And bread -- lots of bread. Cake...cake is a thing. Potato chips...those
- those exist! And those things...they make it hard. They make it really hard. They make
it really hard to be consistent.
Okay, if I cut out all the junk, my diet would be clean and healthy. It's not a question
of if I want to lose the weight, if I want to get healthier, if I want to develop healthy
habits, if I want to kind of reap the benefits of this lifestyle change and the confidence
and all that stuff. I don't understand how motivation is supposed to work, how it is
supposed to be....(sigh).
But you know what? I'm going to look up some motivational quotes and read them and see
if I feel an overwhelming sense of motivation to...do something other than going to sleep
at 7 P.M. on a Sunday night.
Florence Nightingale says that she attributes her success to this:"I never gave or took
any excuse." (pause) Um...yeah, I have a lot of excuses.
"The two most important days in your life are the day you are born, and the day you
find out why"-Mark Twain. That's cool. I can -- I can dig it.
"Believe you can and you're halfway there." -Theodore Roosevelt
(Sings "Ooooh! We're halfway there! Oooooh! Livin' on a prayer!)
Sorry...
"I didn't fail the test, I just found 100 ways to do it wrong." Benjamin Franklin, you
know what? I'm finding about 1000 ways to do it wrong, but it quite honestly feels like
a lot of the same way. (Sigh)
If you're watching this and you have the answers of how to be motivated and how to do this,
or how to be consistent, or how...I mean...ugh.
Motivation!
If there is a motivational God up there...please don't smite me. Lend me a hand? Help me.
I don't know. I don't know what it takes to be motivated. It's a tricky thing. I feel
like...it's like everybody seems to have found this source of motivation that just drives
them to succeed. It's like, why, if I'm starting a new fitness journey and broadcasting it
to whoever is watching this on YouTube, why is this going to be the time that it will
work? Why this time? Because I've done this a million times.
I don't know. Spastic thoughts at 7:00 P.M. on Sunday night. Thanks for watching. Again,
if you know the secret to motivation, let me know because I'm really struggling at the
moment.
I'll see ya' later though. Bye!

(Sings) I'm wearing PJ bottoms right now, and they're not tied so they'll fall down.
I am gonna' frown 'cause I'm wearing PJ bottoms on the town! Woo!
